Mine were fitted by dealer and painted body colour. Just make sure that the fit them in the right place. There is someone on this site who has them fitted above the profile where they should be so not on the widest part of the door - absolutely useless if they're there to stop parking knocks but I suppose they must look 'pretty' to the owner. Thank you, done some digging around and found that they are painted on an RRS, not on a Freelander, which was news to the dealer. The fitting instructions are clear enough where they should be located - to the mm - and the first step shows a picture of a spray gun... Mark

Dealer painted and fitted mine - you are not ordering unpainted, unfitted strips - you are ordering them fitted onto the car.

Yes, but the dealer fitting costs include painting by the local body shop, or so I understand, though why LR cannot supply them pre-painted, I have no idea, but then I have no idea why they can't provide deployable side steps as a factory fit option.
