I think the JE exhaust is only about £600-700 with free fitting for forum members.

Misery - that's great news , I am still waiting for JE to take stock of their in house developed new CATS to add to my system .... they help the sound too & I have heard them on JE's demo.... When fitted they should take my fighterbomber to the next level.............. VULCAN

Oh yes oh yes i heard misery new Exhaust on the phone last night and it sounds PHAAAAT!!!!!! RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

My folks live in Biggin Hill (i.e. the same as the Battle of Britain RAF base etc) and when there was still an airworthy Vulcan, it used to display at the airshow there. It made an immense noise... esp on banked climbs. Eventually, it was banned from attending as too many windows ended up shattered, seriously. Alas there are so many rules and regulations governing air displays nowadays that you'd never see anything like that these days. Not to say you don't see some great stuff though...

It is relatively easy to make an exhaust sound nice and loud at certain revs, it is a much more complex job to make sure it sounds okay throughout the entire rev range without sounding boomy. |
