Front end noise cutting out smoking baby

After vehicle being recovered after knocking rattling from front end alternator packing in . New alternator fitted , vehicle still knocking smoking when you try to move cuts out and gearbox light comes on ...could this be egr valve or contaminated fuel ? Please no smart arse replies helpful and samaratins number would help!

After a duration off a week £600+ spent had £60 off fuel drained car still fxxxxx Rolling with laughter
