What is the "Pirelli XL"? Which Michelin? I used the Vred Wintrac for a couple of winters and it's an ok tyre. Looking at reviews online, there are newer, better performing tyres around now. For example:http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2013-...e-Test.htm The reality with winter tyres is that their performance in cold wet and cold dry conditions is probably more important in the UK (especially the cold wet!) than performance in snow. Just about any winter tyre (except perhaps the real budget jobbies) will be better in snow than a summer tyre is so we can take that as a given. This year I shall be running Grabbter AT through the winter. Will be interesting to see what they're like as the temperature drops and we get cold, wet tarmac. Also I shall be interested to see what they're like in snow - I've seen plenty of people saying they're good in snow. I wonder if we'll get any this year... If the Grabbers perform poorly in cold wet conditions then I might try and find a set of winter tyres later in the season. Might not be able to, of course. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Just make sure that the tyres aren't rated for a certain manufacturer - the N0 is a Porsche marker and means the tyre has been tuned to their requirements. Would probably be fine on a RRS but I'm not sure. The price difference between that and a non-N0 (or other specific tyre) is not that great so easy enough to buy a general version. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
