Hi All,

just picked up some engine oil from the agents here in South Africa. With the same part number, they are now supplying Castrol Edge Professional OE 5w-30 (FST).
I had an issue as the manual says use a A3B3 oil and this is a C3. I had a look at the the link below and it seems the C3 covers all the A3B3 requirements but is the additive package good enough?

They maintain this is correct. What do you guys think?

When mine was recently serviced by a LR dealer in UK they used the newer oil. Looks like they are moving to one oil for all models. The C3 oil is designed to be compatible with DPF, I believe. No idea what difference it makes to non-DPF engines. I assume none. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

C3 spec is a low ash formulation for DPF cars.

It will be fine in your car, providing it meets the other specs
