EGR valve causing ecu light to stay on

I have a 2008 sport that have had for 6 months, EGR valves were changed just prior to purchasing car.
Engine management light has come on and when checked states EGR problem.
Had receipt so contacted garage who fitted?, who said parts weren,t under warrenty any longer due to car being sold on. Is this correct, seems like they might have just cleaned origanally?
Does any one have tips about cleaning insitu prior to having to remove valves.
Also when keys removed can some times here clicking noise(solenoid)? , does this point to egr cleaning cycle.
Thanks .

The parts would have 12 month warranty normally (IF they changed them) was it LR or another? They warranty the part, NOT the owner! Bodsys Brake Bible

Best bet, get them blanked. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.
