I was under the same impression........ Double press to arm the volumetric and perimetric alarms, I think it's time to check the Oracle, failing that the handbook mightier dusted off.! 2010 RRS, TDV8

nope. press once and the lights flash 3 times to indicate that the perimetric and movement sensors are armed. Double press to lock without those armed. Every home should have one!

Just checked through the manual and it states, press the lock button once briefly, this will single lock the vehicle and prevent the doors from being opened from the outside ( they can still be unlocked and opened from inside). The perimetric alarm is also turned on.
