Got hit by a stone plumb in the centre top of my Windscreen resulting in a 12-14 inch crack from the very top of the screen right accross the rain sensor then down towards the middle of the screen. Just called the Land Rover Insurance Glass helpline (which is Autoglass). Spoke to a very nice woman who said the local office will call me this evening to arrange replacement. 2 minutes later the local chap calls to say they have the screens in stock, he has booked me in for Wednesday at 10am and job should only take 2 hours. He also confirmed that the screen is heated & is the rain sensor model. All in all a very good result... especially since many people seem to be having trouble getting windscreens for the sport. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

one tip is to ask for dealer part...if you dont youll get fobbed off with non land rover replacement...in effect it means that the little land rover badge is missing from the screen..think its bottom left ie n/side

The car is due for repair tomorrow. I have just checked with Autoglass and they say they don't fit OEM Glass. I have also checked with my Insurer (Land Rover Insurance) and they will NOT pay for OEM glass. If you want it you have to pay for it yourself! I am waiting for a call back from my LR Dealer to confirm if there will be any warranty issues but both Autoglass & the Insurer say there will not.

Autoglass fitted oem glass to my car. Insurance company paid for it not me. All i paid was normal windscreen excess. I sort of demanded that car be kept original. Asked insurance company if they would be happy if i fitted cheap non oem brake pads and then had accident. I also asked for proof that a non oem windscreen met the original land rover spec as it is a structural item. The price difference is substantial so its fair to question spec and quality. Autoglass have their own windscreen factory so will always push their own cheaper product |

That's interesting, I need to get a new screen in mine after it got bulleted a few weeks ago. Speaking to an ex-colleague at the weekend about shipping of his D3 to Australia, he ended up having a brand new windscreen taken out and replaced when it arrived in Oz. Turned out the compliance authority in Victoria would only accept a windscreen with the LR logo on it, no logo = non-compliant. Cost him $1500 to get the new screen.

Before you get a screen changed print out and take with you VA's posting about want also has to be replaced - it isn't as simple as just a straight screen swop.
