England 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
ECU remapping.....pros and cons.....

Hey guys.

Okay......bumped into a guy at our local hand car wash who owned a 2.7 TDV6 Disco who had his ECU remapped.
Said it was delivering more power when needed and better fuel economy when driving normally.

I think he was quoting that it went from approx 180 BHP to about 220 BHP.

Have any of you guys had any remapping carried out on a 2.7 TDV6 RRS that you can share any pros, cons and prices?

Are there insurance implications?

I met this guy in Bristol where I live. I know approximately where this remapping guy is I think.....

I have had my 2.7 mapped to 260bhp. Goes like stink Mr. Green

On the downside though, it does put more stress on everything, and it was just too much torque for my tired, neglected gearbox. 5th gear is now redundant (common issue with the 6 speed box) but only really apparent after the map

That said, mine has a huge intercooler, Decat, no EGRs, and silicone hoses.

The majority of cars will be fine with just a remap

Wow!......sounds an expensive repair Mike!!

Will a standard 2.7 cope okay with a remap to approx 220 BHP then with no problems??
