Road speed dependent would suggest it wheel related - Does it vary on cornering - possible wheel bearing.

It seems to be always there but most noticeable (road speed noise vs noise) around 50mph. Doesn't seem to vary with direction of wheels but then only minor change in direction at speed. Can't hear it at very low speed. |

Think I have the same issue...more like a squeel though rather than a whirring noise. It's not the breaks because they have a different pitched squeel when breaking at slow speeds.

You say you have Grabbers fitted - are they the Grabber AT? If so, I've found that they are quite noisy at some speeds particularly around 30mph and 55-70mph. It's a droning noise that doesn't change much over the speed range and is the same whether on throttle or the overrun. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
