Wait for Euro6?

I am getting to the top of the waiting list. My dealer has offered to delay, as it has suddenly moved up. Ordered in January, original delivery was November, now looking at September. With the impending Euro 6 legislation, and possible London travel issues, what do you think about waiting a few months? There has been no press release as far as I know for a compliant V6 diesel engine. Does anybody have an idea of when it will be released, as after Jan 1 2015 it will be mandatory for any new car sold.

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

Good article in last weeks Sunday Times on Euro VI

Not likely to be enforced in London until 2020.

Will you still own the new car then?

Will it impact resale in 2016-18 if not Euro VI compliant?

I live in London well inside congestion zone, but can't see something that is 5/6 years away is much to lose sleep over.

If worried about depreciation based on London rules the answer must be to buy a Prius! MY2010 TDV8 purchased Jan 2017
MY14 HSE Dynamic 3.0 SDV6 sold Sept 2015
MY 2010 TDV8 sold April 2014
MY 2007 V6 HSE sold July 2013

I think you can be certain that a car that is not Euro VI compliant will be more difficult to sell in 3 or 4 years time if the cost of taking it into cities is set to rise dramatically, so it's worth doing the research and waiting if a Euro VI compliant engine is only a short time away. Mark
