I have a 2006 Sport with very low mileage. I sometimes tow a very light weight caravan down to Spain. There are two particular roads with a steady uphill gradient when the engine just decides to cut out and we just come to a stop. Once stopped the engine will start up again as though nothing has happened and off we go again? It would seem that the engine is not taking note of the tow weight and changing down through the gears as and when necessary? Stopping like this without any warning could be dangerous!! Any advice out there would be helpful Andrew Kennedy

Perhaps it hasn't had the software updated to take account of the fact that you have the tow pack fitted?.

Does it traverse hills okay when in manual mode?.

Just a couple of things to think about. Need....more.....mud, must.....off.....road.

Mine did this, the engine stop accompanied by a Christmas tree of warning lights.

Cured by changing EGR valaves
