Aaagh... It's the EAS again.... Help!!

So, I need some help in solving my EAS problem(s).

Firstly, a little background.

I've felt for a while that the EAS compressor is struggling and that it's taking longer to raise the car. Also the EAS compressor is whirring and tick a lot whilst working to raise the car.

There are no error codes whatsoever according to my IDD Tool.

The front suspension seems to 'dip' more under braking than usual. This is based on the feel of the car and the graphic on the 4x4 info display. The suspension units are the original from 12 years ago, but still pass the yearly MOT suspension inspection test. However, I am considering replacing them all.

I disconnected the battery overnight to see if the car settled to one corner and it did. In fact it settled on both front and rear drivers side.

So from this I can assume there are leaks to both these units, and potentially the EAS compressor is warn out (or getting there).

The question is how to I track down the fault?? I've sprayed a water/ soap mix on the air bags/ connectors and there's no leak. So the leak occurs between there and the EAS compressor etc.

The question is are the air pipes continuous between say the rear DS bag and the rear valve block? And then again from the rear valve block to the main valve block, etc? If so it should not be hard to check all these connectors and the valve blocks themselves for leaks.

If however the pipes are joined in between then this is more problematic..

So are there any guides on how to trace the leak back or is it just a case of giving it a try and seeing the result? I would prefer not to spend GBP 500 on a new compressor....

Thanks.

The pipes are continuous between valve block and each air bag so far as I am aware. Likewise, between the corner valves and the reservoir valve block. The only joints are where the pipes attach to a fitting (reservoir, compressor, valve blocks, air bag). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks RRSTDV8 Thumbs Up

Should make the job a bit easier.. I presume there are some O-Rings or similar at the joints, that should there be a leak, that these could be replaced??

Cheers

The joints use Voss connectors which can be changed. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Thanks RRSTDV8,

Think I'll get the professionals to have a look at it then... As well as considering replacing all the air bags and dampersat the same time as they are over 10 years old....

Cheers
