Tyre pressure

Hi all, got my mitts on an HSE V8.
The tyres on it are,,,275, 40zr, 20, 106 wxl
At mo running at 40psi. But they feel very soft when coming across deep pot holes or low curbs etc.
Any ideas what they supposed to be?
Size is not listed on drivers door.
Many thanks
Paul
