Reminds me a little of this old story:

ACTUAL transcript of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October, 1995. This radio conversation was released by the Chief of Naval Operations on 10-10-95.

The carrier/lighthouse one has several variations of nationalities depending on who is telling the tale...I can believe the yanks doing it though 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
