Can you not buy regular annual insurance and cancel to get a refund when not required? Admin costs will be involved but should still work out cheaper than £300 Alternatively, get annual insurance payable in monthly installments and cancel after a month. Again, there will be a premium for not paying in full but not as bad as your current quote. |

I looked into this, and as I could not carry NCD over as its on my RRS, the premium was over £700. I would then have to pay a deposit of £120, the an instalment of £80 followed by another at the 2wk point. Cancellation charge was £50 and I don't know how much I would get refunded.

Sorted! I rang back my insurer as I had read something about mirroring NCD. Where they originally said they couldn't, turns out they can! I now have the two vehicles both with NCD on. result |
