I was at Hunters Chester last Bank Holiday Monday, and they had a new LWB Defender in Stornaway, with full rack, RAI, and mammoth wheels. Looked utterly epic. I had a 59 plate similar LWB Defender but without the rack etc but it was great fun. Did 38000 miles in 18 months in it. Must admit I was twitching like mad when I saw it. I guess it would have the 2.2 engine not the 2.4 that was in mine. I even thought about in a moment of madness about chopping the RRS for a new D4 and also this Defender!! |

Yeh I know what you mean there is a attraction to them , although if I was going for a disco IDE be inclined to wait till next year for the new one , that said the dealer I use reckon there is a wait till cot for the current one and they have 9 on order so still very popular , my lad reckons when I go up to Carlisle to collect this today I will need to take my back support , still can't wait and looking forward to it , already looking at alloys , rack , and other stuff to pimp it up , go with your passion bob |

I wondered whether to buy one as well but a new or recent production car is in the highest VED band, £500 pa, which I would find difficult to justify... Mark
