How difficult can it be to buy an awning!

I am collecting my new caravan Thursday and been reading worrying threads regarding side panels being damaged by awning poles on new Elddis Solid caravans like the one I have ordered Sad

So I decided to order an expensive air awning and did some research then settled on a Kampa Air Pro which according to Caravan talk forum posts was the dogs wotsits and as hard to find as rocking horse poo Rolling Eyes

I couldn't find a pro so ordered a cheaper standard air with May delivery promised. They then emailed last week to say July/August delivery now so too late for my trips but have had my money nearly a month and still advertising May delivery on website Evil or Very Mad

All was not lost I rang another dealer and found a pro so snapped his hand off and parted with £850 for the privilege. Immediately afterwards posts appeared warning of leaks so I asked for some more information from one contributor who it turned out was none other than simon645 from here Bow down

Imagine my surprise when our PMs on caravantalk were banned and we couldn't communicate Shocked

This is not the first time I've been hit by their ridiculous behaviour - I tried to share some info here on a caravan manufacturer in administration and they got it removed, I tried to take part in posts on elddis sides cracking/creasing like mine and many others but they banned that and one forum member affected for life but this is the first time I have had PMs blocked by them and wonder if they can read private messages Confused

It makes you realise what a great forum this is where we can freely discuss the good and the bad without looking over our shoulder Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Presumably the forum's owners are scared of scaring off advertisers... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Had enough tog caravan talk due to there policy on policing posts

You can slag of a dealer as long as you don't name them Rolling Eyes

But to then ban the private messages Shocked

I can assure you that no body in the moderation team here can read them, I don't even believe Martin has the power either
