[For Sale] Defender 90 td5 galvanised many mods
I have decided to sell my Defender after 2 and a half years of ownership. I will advertise it on here to give forum member first chance before advertising it elsewhere (for much more ).
I bought the car in december 2011 as a much used/abused 175000 mile 90 Hard top offroader and since then i have spent a fortune doing the following repairs/modifications during the last 2 years- I estimate the car has done around 190-195000 miles in total but has been comprehensively rebuilt during the last 20000 miles
Engine stripped, new oil pump, new main/big end shells, new cylinder head with 5 new injectors (approx15000 miles ago)
Replacement r380 gearbox
new clutch/dual mass flywheel assy
fully rebushed
new steering arms
Discovery 2 ratio transfer box -nicer spread of gears and more relaxed at motorway speeds (came from a 28000mile v8 D2)
Modified Discovery 2 axles- 4" wider than standard, better choice of wheels etc (from same vehicle as above) rebuilt at the time with new seals/bearings etc
P38 alloys with 285 BF Goodrich mud terrain tyres ( all have at least 13/14 mm of tread left)
Brand new galvanised Richards HD chassis with my company logo welded int the rear crossmember (approx 2 years ago)
BAS remap, alisport intercooler, silicone hoses
hardtop fitted with sliding side windows
steering guard
replacement 2nd hand speedo head done at same time as running gear replaced (currently showing 54000 miles)
straight through center pipe (sounds amazing) also still have original i you preferred
NAS rear step towbar, blasted and galvanised
galvanised military spec front bumper
genuine TD5 revcounter
Mudstuff dash with boost guage, voltmeter, clock and flip out DVD/cd player
Leather reclining bucket seats
Mountney leather sports steering wheel
Gwyn lewis bulkhead mudshields
safari snorkel
tree sliders/steps
galvanised cappings
genuine wolf doors with aluminium tops, anti burst latches etc.
painted satin nato green
If sold on here to a forum member it can also include original doors, and a replacement rear tub if you wanted them
Bad points-
body not immaculate as you can expect of a working vehicle of this age, but very solid
Paint done by hand during the winter and not the best paintjob although it is easy to touch up and i still have half a tin of paint left.
occasionally when cold the clutch spigot bearing groans for a few seconds
rear door has signs of corrosion starting
Just being honest, but dont want anyone expecting a showroom vehicle
Offers around £11000 which is a fraction of what i have spent on it
May take cheaper PX as i will need something to get to and from work when this goes
