Changing steering rack ends

Hi been having a bad wheel wobble from about 45mph, had an mot and both my steering track arms need replacing.

These aren't expensive parts, but has anyone replaced them themselves ?

Can i do it ? or is it best left to a mechanic ?

thanks

tbh no matter how carefull you are you will probly need tracking doing, they are often siezed tight and need heat to remove, it will only take someone with a ramp 30 min to do

Never needed heat to remove these on d3 (which is the same as rrs).
They're very easy to do on the drive tbh.
Jack the car up, remove wheel, dislocate the outer track rod end from the hub, then undo the inner sleeve and undo that side. Take it out in one and measure to try to match up the new one to keep the tracking as close as possible (you will still need get it fully tracked afterwards.

Or remove the out track rod end, but make sure you count how many turns it takes to get it off the end of the inner track rod. Then replace the inner track rod and count on a similar number of turns for the outer.
Again, not perfect and you will still need tracking done, but it should drive ok. Bodsys Brake Bible
