I built the engine, fit the panels and got it upto a rolling chasis last year....... then due to **** commitments sold it to a friend who already has one. He finished it off and got it through the SVA last month

Porsche 911 GT3 MkII....an Elise is great, but an Exige would be better. HSE TD6 (Java Black/Ivory) 911GT3 (Guards Red, carbon interior) ElanSE (BRG) Panamera Turbo S Boxster S |

Well at 22 with a RRS on the way & even thinking about an Elise as a track car you ain't doing bad! But an Elise would be excellent, really depends on how big your budget is. I know guys whose track day budgets would put a small F1 team to shame! Have you ever done a track day before? If not a good idea would be to go along to a few & chat to some of the guys there. You'll pick up plenty of good ideas & advice. HSE TD6 (Java Black/Ivory) 911GT3 (Guards Red, carbon interior) ElanSE (BRG) Panamera Turbo S Boxster S |

Suggest you consider a Corrado VR6. It has a 2.9 V6 petrol engine yet weighs not much. Superb chasis which will match a porsche for a lot less money, more reliable, cheaper parts and will become a classic (although twanking it around a race track wont help). I first drove one at the Jonathan Palmer race school and he (and all of his staff) rated the Corrado as the best track car they had had (and they had a lot to choose from) because of the perfect combination of engine and chassis. They can be bought for circa £3,000 now, but good, clean, cared for cars are getting rare. there is a VR6 Storm for sale in London right now for £4,995 with one owner and 120k miles and FVWSH, and I have been tempted ....... always regreted selling mine a few years back
