alarm keeps going off

my car alarm has started randomly going of for no reason, it may go off for 20 minutes then not go off again for 3 or 4 days then it will go off again, i have now un plugged it to shut the siren up, any ideas foks or do the things just go faulty

Faulty bonnet catch ?
Do a search on here as I know that's been a fairly common cause
