Product warning (do not use)

Today I made the mistake of buying Halfords Demon shine snow foam (utter crap).
After trying it, I found it left me with water stains, that I could not get out.
Panic stricken I used my best polish, and still it wouldn't get rid of the water ringlets, that covered my car.

Exhausting all my options I went down to Halfords, and registered a complaint against the product, the manager and supervisor was extremely helpful and promised me they would get this sorted , however way possible.

I left the shop with a meguirs clay bar kit, and large Autoglym resin polish as a way of an apology, and in the hope the clay bar will do the trick.

They are calling in a detailer if I can't get it out.

You can get most of the stain out but it leaves a almost polished ring once you have coated it in autoglym, my worry is that the sun could then bake the stain in and then I'm Censored ..!

I will keep you updated on my progress.

I've just purchased on line, a proper lance and foam from a reputable company that specialises in detailing as well. Wink

Hot (ish) water may have diluted the stains enough to remove them. Unfortunately polish may just lock the stains under the polish

6:45 am in the morning I washed it, left it on for say 5-10 mins and rinsed off , what could I have done wrong..!
The detailed suggested if you got hard water it can cause issues, and he has to use filtered water.

Hands up if I done something wrong here but apart from maybe leaving for that amount of time, I don't know.

I clay bar'd it and its all gone luckily, but never again.

Seen some rather poor reviews on this stuff as well.

Snow foam is a TFR and some are more aggressive than others and if left to dwell for too long and start to dry on the bodywork especially in hard water areas will leave marks. I use snow foam just to lift off the lose stuff and rinse almost immediately with plenty of water and then wash with a good shampoo ( not fairy liquid ) using a micro fibre wash mitt. Rinse off and either blow dry with leaf blower and or wipe gently dry with good drying towels.

Terry, I left it long enough to drink a cuppa, some say it was too long, I don't know.
The rest you suggested I actually do.

Paul I live in a hard water area also and I think drinking the cup of tea was the problem I had the same issue of water marks when I first used snow foam because I had been told to let it dwell for 5 to 10 minutes big mistake. I am pleased you managed to get rid of the water marks bloody hard work though because after claying you have to wax/seal again. These RRS are big things to keep clean.
PS I did try using a R.O. Unit which would allow me to let it dry without drying it off and no water marks but the water rejection rate was about 90 percent which is not very water friendly especially if you are on a meter. Big Cry

Paul, do you pressure wash the car first or just snow foam onto a dry car? I always pressure wash car first before snow foaming. I use autobrite snow foam though.

Ady you boys are so lucky living in a soft water area it makes washing cars so much easier. You would find it hard to believe how difficult it is not to have water marks if you don't wipe all the door shuts, bonnet and boot there will be water marks perhaps we could have a long hose pipe off your tap to make our life easier Thumbs Up

Living in a hard water area too, I now use 4 water butts to collect for car washing! It's so nice to jet wash and clean the car then just leave it to dry naturally without the water marks.
