Coincidence?

I've always ran my TDV8 on Shell V-Power diesel but for some reason the wife had to fill up and she did so at Sainsburys. Since then (about 50 mile ago) I can smell diesel when I get out of the car having pulled up; it seems to be stronger on the nearside.

It's going in for a major service on Monday but I was just wondering if anyone had any idea before it does?

Thanks.

I've never noticed a smell of diesel when it's warmed up though?

I've taken the engine cover off and can't see any evidence of leaks around the injectors.

I checked the receipt just in case. Whistle

What would be the symptoms of overfilling and where would it rear it's head?

How the hell did you get your misses to fill the car up? Mine has a sixth sence. She knows when it needs fuel and never goes near it! But when it full she's all over it! Big Cry MY11 Autobiography supercharged. Santorini Black. Monaco interior. Rear screens. Privacy.
Gone MY08 Supercharged HST. Java black. Ivory premium interior. Rear screens. Privacy. Missed a lot.
Gone MY04 Discovery V8 Petrol ES Premium. Awesome.

A true story - I apologise the lady members (I could relay some about our men customers sometime)

In the days long ago when I owned a Ford dealership we had a mature single lady who bought a new Escort on the Friday: on the following Monday she telephoned to say it wouldn't keep running ! - while lovingly cleaning it on the Sunday she'd opened bonnet and seen the oil filler cap so she did - stopping only when it came to the top ! When we got to the car there was oil everywhere as when she'd tried to start it the cranking had pumped it out the dip stick tube and blown off the filler cap (they were only a push-fit.

Surprising; after a good under-bonnet steam clean and draining the excess the engine survived and gave no trouble for many years Thumbs Up
