Front Parking Sensors 2010 model

I am looking at a friends Sport for him, it's a 2010 model and I can't figure out the parking sensors. I have a Discovery 3 which is slightly different.

The rear sensors work fine, but nothing is coming from the front. You can activate using the button on the dash and the rear sounder gives a short tone, but the light doesn't flash and no continuous tone, so looks to be working.

I get no sound from the front when you press the button or when you get close to obstacle. Should I get a tone when they are selected from the front. Is the sounder part of the instrument binnacle or is it in another place.

I do notice that if you park close to something at the rear and then move in front of the car, the rear sounder is briefly interrupted as if to let you hear the front sounder. I am getting seat belt warning, lights on and indicator sounds which I think come from the same sounder.

Any ideas, there were no fault codes logged. Where is the front sounder for the parking sensors ?.

Thanks
