Auto box issue, as if stuck in Sports mode

Hi all,

I am having issues with my autobox. The car is only changing gear when it is hitting 4500 ish revs, it's as if its stuck in Sports mode. I move it to sports and can change up and down ok. The car then comes up "transmission fault" then HDC fault.

I will be away working for the week and my wife will need to take to garage, could anyone advise me what they think the issue might be, so I have any idea before the garage starts to have a look at it.

Thanks.

Hi Disco_Mikey,

Brilliant just the very thing. I had actually changed the rear passenger brake bulb about an hour before I went for the drive and experienced the issue. I didn't think the bulb would have caused such an issue. My wife changed the bulb over this morning (after guidance over the mobile Laughing ) and the car is driving again without any issue.

Thanks again for your wonderful help, much appreciated.

It is so common, it is even listed in the ZF Troubleshooting guide Whistle

I did get your PM, BTW. I am through your way next Wednesday, but you have cured the issue already Thumbs Up

Hi, I will heading down from Aberdeen on Wednesday so prob will miss you. I have 'Liked' your FB page and saved your mobile number Very Happy

We spoke previously about the ERG valves but I have decided against as the engine is running fine (touch wood) at the moment, getting good consumption but will keep an eye on it.

Thanks again buddy and hopefully speak soon for my service, cheers.
