I have a TDV6 on order and am now wondering if I should be buying an X5 or something else if the RRS TDV6 is so noisy.
Is that true?
I had one on test for a day and it seemed fine
Was I so in love I couldnt hear it?

Like what ?

The only thing i know of that you can't get on the TDV6 maybe V8 as well in the ACC

JayMann,
We don't unfortunately get the TDV6 over here, so i am not familiar with the options one can get on one. In particular I was refering to things like the overall look of the vehicle, (i.e. I would want a TDV8 to look identical to my '06 S/C), and for it to have the identical wheels, suspension, etc., so that the handling and ride matched the S/C. I also would want it to have the exact same interior; seats, etc. As for the ACC, I would never want it.

It's not "so noisy".... you can just tell it's a diesel and that it's not soundproofed as well as other diesel implementations. The X5 diesel is quieter in the cabin but it's not what I would call intrusive in the RRS.

The TDV6 is not noisy - all references to noisy deisel were for the previous deisel made by BMW still used in the Big RR.

Which actually is horrendously noisy, but you're not buying that, so it's not a problem Smile

Isn't the TD6 the X5 engine? Albeit in a detuned state. As I understand from a conversation yesterday, Brembos will be on the TDV8 too. But 640Nm of torque Cool Cool Cool Cool

A question though, as the FFRR is lighter than the RRS, will it be quicker? Or is the RRS much more sorted in handling that real world figures will make the RRS quicker? A RRS is too small for my needs and I'm not so sure D3 will get the engine anway, so it looks like I need to start saving now for a FFRR, but I am uneasy about turning up at a client's house in a FFRR Rolling Eyes

V10 diesel Toerag instead?

The FFRR is actually heavier than the RRS.

The RRS TDV6 = 2455kg
The FFRR TD6 = 2570kg

Why hasn't this post been moderated??????

Looks like I was getting muddled with the D3 weight wise! Rolling Eyes

VA but I'm 36 (almost) so I am oooolllllllllddddddd Wink Simple fact is the RRS just does not fit my life, you aren't going to get 6 dogs, 2 kids and a wife in one. I can't afford a divorce, so the wife and dogs have to stay and I've got rather attached to the kids soI can't sell them either Shocked

But I do like the luxury of the FFRR - its even better than the D3 Wink and the idea of the V8 is Cool

What you need is a TDV8 D3

How long will it be before it's for sale ?

For practicality/versitility there is nothing to match the D3

Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad
