BMW E53 X5 owner wanting to upgrade to a Range Rover Sport

BMW E53 X5 owner wanting to upgrade to a Range Rover Sport

Currently own an 2004 E53 X5 3.0d, black on black, fully loaded with 65k on the clock

Have owned it about 4 yrs now, mainly used by the mrs and 2 long kids for school runs and her local part time work, hence the low mileage.

We are now in the fortunate position to upgrade, and have about £15k in the pot + our X5 (which I reckon is worth abt £10k)

We want to go for the same spec - Diesel, Black (or maybe white), newest we can with low mileage and as fully loaded as posible.

Just a few questions for you current owners -

What sort of year do you think we are looking at for £20-25k ish?
Any advice on things to look out for, or recommendations on things to go for?

And most importantly, has anyone on here got a well loved stunner that fits the bill they are looking to sell in the next few months?

Thanks in advance

John

England 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I would try and push for a MY10 facelift, with the 3.0L diesel.
I think these came out after Sept/Oct 2009. 3.0 HSE RRS Stornaway (current)
Evoque Prestige Lux (gone)
3.0 a Disco 4 (gone)

2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Swapped my 55 plate E53 3.0 D for a 58 plate TDV8 last July, you will love the RRS to drive but it is crippling on fuel in comparison. Certainly if you want comparable performance you will need to get the larger lump, the 2.7 is no match for the BM.

Remember servicing is every 12 months on the RRS not 24 like the BM, they are costly to maintain! If you go down the dealer servicing route the costs are double what you pay from BMW, 250 for my X5 service in July at Snows, 600 for a comparable at LR last month.

You will love the change though, well worth it and I will never look back. I would recommend buying from a dealer with LR warranty extended warranty, if not keep some money aside to cover repairs, you will read on here about a list of things that tend to go wrong and I can say in my experience that the all have!! Suspension compressor, wishbone bushes, electronic handbrake, all the common ones!

Have a read around on this site as there are loads of people who are really knowledgable and willing to help, go in eyes open and enjoy. Smile TDV8 Java Black, Overfinch 22s
