Remap advice

Just out of curiosity, does it make any difference other than a bit more responsive and gets rid of flat spot pulling away?

I ask as the RRS only really gets used by the Mrs to transport jnr and the dog about, mainly city centre driving. Only really gets to stretch its legs if i use it. Is it beneficial if its just used for this type of driving? Car has full history, belts just been done and kept in A1 condition due to having Mrs, jnr and dog in it. I've always been a bit sceptical of remaps causing issues to cars.

Im guessing theres no horror stories with remaps?

its a TDV6.

Thanks

You'd probably be better using the money to run it on the high-spec diesels (Shell Nitro, BP Ultimate etc.). Town driving/short hops isn't great for engines and using decent fuel should help keep everything clean and in better condition. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Unless you have specific agreement from the warranty provider then they will run a mile from any claim that they can pin on the remap. Provided they figure out / can prove that it has a remap of course. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Think I might have to wait a bit then as I have main dealer warranty . I'm sure they would spot it a mile off
Thanks

Depends on the remap. Some (like site sponsor BAS) have a device that lets you change the map back to standard whenever you like. This is useful when you take it in for a service etc. You then put the performance map back on when you get home. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
