Scotland 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Stornoway Grey
Limp Mode

I have the following issue. On the same hill around 20 miles from me and only going the one way I get a error message "System Fault Message" and the car goes into limp mode. Usually I can stop, turn off for 30 secs, restart and all is good although the error message takes about 5 mins to disappear.

So far I have replaced the Brake Light switch, reasonable argument for this. I have replaced the Coolant Temp Sensor as Peachy has had a similar experience but neither has fixed the problem.

I haven't had the codes read as the nearest dealer is 30 miles away but maybe my next stop.

Has anyone any further ideas what might be causing this? its a very strange fault as it doesn't appear on any other roads except the one road, it is a pretty steep hill coming south out of Inverness. 2006 Supercharged

Silly question - have you checked the oil level? Just wondering if the steepness of the hill (and it only occurring going one way on the hill) indicates a sensor registering a dangerously low oil level. No idea if this a possible cause but it's an easy check. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Sounds to me like a fueling issue.. You need to get the codes read as a starting point.

Flack Thumbs Up

Mikey, i'm in Carrbridge, just North of Aviemore. If you're going to be up here that would be great. 2006 Supercharged
