As an amateur to the London Congestion Charge I just googled "London Congestion Charge" to pay it and was presented with this website

I thought nothing of it until it started asking for car make, car model, contact number?? I thought it should confirm to me what make and model from the reg and what on earth do they want my mobile number for?!?

So I had a look around and found the genuine site http://www.tfl.gov.uk/roadusers/congestioncharging/

Also the first site is £15 and the genuine one is £10......

Is the first one just a scam or is it a middle man who makes a fiver on each booking?

Shameful that it is first up on google as many an unsuspecting Northener will fall for this!!

First site looks like a scam to get you to pay an extra fiver. TBH I've never heard of this site as I always use the TFL site. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Good luck to them - they're not doing anything wrong or pretending to be something they're not. Their site at least looks clean and simple and easy to use. Unlike TfL's site.

It's amazing that TfL didn't register that name (and combinations thereof) for their own use... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
