Who's picking up a new RRS on March 1st?

I'm having mine delivered 28th Feb.
Will be out like a shot at midnight for a nice drive. Current...

Not 100% yet but have been told ' it should be here for 1st March delivery'. Was built yesterday so fingers crossed!

Really looking forward to this as was told when I ordered that it wouldn't be here until June!

The car wasn't due until 15th, but I saw it in the dealers compound on Saturday. Getting excited now! Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more...

I should have been.
Been on order for nearly 12 months now, but keeps getting put back by dealer. 2014 Nara Bronze SDV6
GONE TDV6 HSE RRS in Giverny green,Ebony interior, Side steps,Tints, PTI, Tow pack, mud flaps, Side strips and Dynamics pack.

What spec have you ordered?

As I've already said, mine was 2 weeks early! I ordered at the end of September. Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more...

I've been waiting a long time too (around 9 months now I think).
Various delays most notably panaromic roof).
Finally had the opportunity to have had mine built and delivered end January to first week Feb but I declined and decided to wait another few weeks for the 14 plate (probably worth a few pounds more when I move it on in 4-5 years). Plus I get MY2014.5 build whatever that's worth.
Didn't fancy waiting in line with everyone else at the dealership on March 1st so having mine delivered to my house on the 28th. Current...

You're doing well, I ordered mine in August and my order hasn't even been placed with the factory, still less a build or delivery date.

Just beginning to lose interest, especially when I read the Macan runs rings around the Evoque and the fastest Macan is faster than even the AB SC. Not the same car I know but these delays plus a breakdown in my Evoque on Monday do not inspire confidence or loyalty. Mark

No build date is weird considering August order. Any idea what the hold-up is?

They are indeed not the same. Porsche will always make 'sportier' cars than Land Rover (apples and oranges).
Customers with deeper pockets who were looking at the Evoque could be swayed by a Macan, even though its probably more Q5 size than Evoque size from what I've heard.

I don't think it will take sales from entry level Evoque sales (or customers who don't spec up their Evoques).

I just tried Porsche's build configurator to build a similar spec of my Si4 with the entry level Macan and came up with figures anywhere from +£10k to +£15= over what I paid for my RRE (£47k) and I wasn't even trying. Current...

InControl, or OutofControl would be a better name for it, is holding things up. Reading between the lines, it might not even happen in MY2014.5 - we will see.

The Macan is currently more expensive than an Evoque as you say but offers much better performance; the playing field will be levelled when Porsche offer 4 cylinder engines at comparable or slightly premium prices to the Evoque. The first 50000 Macans are already sold, the lead time is longer than it ever was for the Evoque and if LR are dismissing it, I think they are making a mistake.

Competition is good because it will force LR to manufacture better value, higher performance, higher quality cars and at least some of the sales of the Macan will be to those who might otherwise have bought an Evoque or an RRS. Mark

I was told InControl only available for cars built from May on (even though it is in the configurator now). I decided it wasn't that important to me and put an old style garage fitted tracker back on instead.

Build date is now March for early April delivery (ordered in October).

Yes, it's easy to see how that date could slip further, and before you know it, we'll be at the summer shutdown and into the next model year. I may just decide to sit on my hands until we see what's in MY2015. I need to get rid of my Evoque before the warranty runs out though (December). Mark
