I went from 2010 to 2013 (basically 2012) and can't believe they are the same car - so much more refined. If you can afford it go for 2012 - well worth the extra and I think will be more sought after when time to change Bow down Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Thanks for replies, Top budget 35k/36k . Test drive arranged for tomorrow. One of main points is suitablility to tow our new twin axle bessacarr caravan, our disco has been excellent but due a change, thought 6 speed auto would be ok. Smile

I have towed twin axle elddis with 6 speed 2010 and 8 speed 2013 and the 6 speed has actually been more economical up to now (around 22 mpg) Thumbs Up

Try not to rip A frame off when you pull away from junctions Whistle Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Not looking to steel the thread but along the same topic I too am, and have been ,looking for a MY11 around the same budget.

Been watching LR used approved site for 5/6 weeks now and there's been a couple of price reductions, as much as £2k, from dealers looking to move stock with known additional cars coming in with the new my14's 1st March onwards.

I'm going to hold off for another month as logic says that dealers are going to have stock that they need to shift and possibly reduce prices vs have parked on forecourt..

Another thought is that the end of the My11, td vs sd, will see prices hold better on the MY12 given it's better spec and my11 will need drop further back from the My12 at this time to attract buyers.

Maybe a couple of thoughts that are possibly floored with logic somewhere, but hopeful none the less.

Let's see.

The biggest floor in your theory is that you will have to spend another month without a RRS in your life Big Cry Big Cry

True 362bkr but the new reg should mean more choice in dealers and drop in prices for anyone who can wait Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Waiting could mean drop in new prices but also drop in trade in price, I have a sense people know which is the right car and this one just ticks the boxes. Thumbs Up

I've seen a couple of My11 cars that are exactly the spec am chasing but not being in a rush, and maybe getting a little greedy on the price, just waiting to see..

and 32bkr you're right, every day that goes by without a RRs is just killing me.. Big Cry

Trouble is I'm now arguing with own inner conscience - starting 6 weeks back with approx a £33K budget , I'm now leaning towards how much to spend to get a reasonable milage MY12

Slowly going insane

Update, test drove RRS, loved the car. Deal done. Prefer 6 speed box as more economical for towing our bessacarr 645 twin caravan and duel tail gate opening for our dog.and could not afford 2012 model. 13 pin electrics to fit and towbar plus paperwork to dvla. Then pick up asap. Thanks and looking forward to being a RRS owner Thumbs Up
