Questions around width, folded mirrors, cameras. Am I mad?

Apologies if this question has been asked before, I'm struggling to find the info I'm after so if anyone is able to help me out it would be much appreciated.

I am looking to purchase a larger family car and a newish RRS fits the bill, except for the size. I live in London and am fortunate enough to rent a garage where I keep my current car. The garage itself is ample size, what's not is the approach which is basically a hole which is half a house width wide. The tunnel goes from 2.14m to 2.11m at its narrowest. Land Rover give the width of the RRS with mirrors folded as 2.07m.

My mind tells me that's too tight to even contemplate. My heart says you might as well ask owners what they think. I'm clinging onto the hope that I could get the car lined up before the narrowest point and use the surround cameras to guide me through. So 2 questions really; do the wing mirror cameras work when folded and secondly, am I mad to even contemplate this?

Can any owners comment on how accurately they think I will be able to place the car with cameras to assist? Or am I made to even think about it?

Many thanks

Yes, the cameras work when mirrors are folded. But Surround cameras are of so use here - they show your wheels and bodywork, not the edge of your mirrors.

You suggest you have 4 cm clearance. You would probably line up so you have 1 to 2 cm clearance on the drivers side and then you will know the passenger side is good.

I think you would curse everytime you used your garage and would end up buying a street permit instead. Getting through in the dark would be near impossible. Rolling Eyes L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Have you also checked that you have sufficeint headroom/ clearance under any beams in the ceiling, even at access heght RRS is a high vehicle? My garage has a similar narrow door width but opens out inside to wide enough to at least open the driver's door, but I cannot get the car unnder the lintle for the up and over garage door anyway as the door is too low in the up position and I cannot rebuild the entry to fit without havinng a whole new house. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks for the replies. Vertical clearance not an issue, it's not an up and over garage door.

ilard, thanks for your reply. There is lighting in the "tunnel" so darkness is less of an issue, but it's wishful thinking on my part.

I appreciate your help. End of story.

Thanks for the offer, much appreciated but if I want to pursue it I'll see if a local dealer can bring one out. It will be a really tight squeeze and I wouldn't want you to take the risk to be honest.

My garage requires folded mirrors to get in and lowering.

I always reverse in and use the mirrors to guage sides up until I need to retract. I find that the reversing lights provide enough illumination to be able to see the sides of the garage and ensure i don't hit anything.

You could put a mirror on the wall or one with a sucker on the outside of the driver's window. You only need to do one side once you know the tolerances.
