A better idea, just don't let the Mrs wash her car, it will reflect on you should you be seen out in it at anytime. Laughing

Hi all,

Now im back in another black car id like to look into making my like easier when cleaning it. This is just a weekly wash to keep it clean over winter not a summer clay session.

So my current cleaning protocol is.

Rinse off most dirt
Use a tfr like product to soak into dirt.
Hot water, autoglym cleaner with sponge.
Rinse off.
I dont even dry it as awd man must have put some good wax on as the water just slips off Thumbs Up

What id like to know is there anything i should changed?

I get all my cars TRIBOS treated. (When I sold my 2005 Merc E320 estate Feb 2012 the buyer though the car was new.) The day after I bought my current 2011 RRS it went straight in for treatment. This covers the bodywork, Alloys and Glass. You can see You tube videoes or go to their website. It is actually a lot cheaper than you might expect if you talk to them direct. Rain literally bounces off the glass and cleaning bodywork and alloys is a breeze. In fact the finish improves after the first few washes after treatment. Originally from the harsh marine Super Yacht environment but now used on Premier Marque vehicles. Strangely their big market is Malaysia and Thailand as it provides UV protection plus the Asians love their cars.

Once on all I do is a quick jet wash of the body - then a quick wash down with a pH neutral shampoo. ( I use one from Halfords) then I do a 2nd wash the suds of with hose or jet wash. At that point either leave it or for a spectacular finish use a microfiber cloth to dry the water off. You will be amazed how quick and the result.

Sponges are so £5 wash things but what else can be used?

Is there a wax that can be sprayed on last thelp keep the dirt off? (I like the way water beads off when it rains
)

Finally what about a product i can again spray onto the wheels to keep the brake dust off?

Please dont direct me to a detialing site though Rolling with laughter

I have found the easiest way to wash my car is-

Take it to the Kosovans down the village Thumbs Up . Sit in the car with the heater on and listen to the ipod, pay my £6, stand back and admire my hard work-job done Thumbs Up

Im already to blame mate Big Cry

i have what looks like a box scratch across the bonnet, someone has put a box from the path onto the bonnet and then passed it accross the bonnet by sliding it, so there are about 10 scratches in the same direction, should i use the T-Cut i bought or is there something else that can help remove it?
I have not attempted to try and remove it yet, but thought it best if I ask the Knowledgeable out there first.. Bow down

Paul - as a general rule if you can feel the scratch with your thumbnail then it is going to need paint.

There are products on the market for removing lesser scratches - T-cut do one and there are some two stage kits.

Failing that you could resort to a machine polish by a local detailer or bodyshop. ---------------------------

On my last car my wife decided it was a good idea to remove the snow from the bonnet................................with a snow shovel. She didn't realise that the leading edge of the shovel was aluminium Big Cry ---------------------------

Paul - It's actually a T-cut scratch removing paste that I have, not regular T-cut. Don't forget to apply copious amounts of polish afterwards. ---------------------------
