the engine cranks but does not pick to idling point and it gashes out a lot of dark/black smoke. |

Does it have a sun roof. If so, check for sunroof tubes blockage. That can lead to water entering the fuse box behind the glove box. Its the body control unit and therefore houses the immobiliser. If it actually cut out in motion, then its a different story. Diesel or petrol please |

Sounds like it has engine oil entering the cylinders. Check oil level. If it above normal by a great margins. Pcv can damp fuel into the cylinders like nobody's business |
