Does seem a bit odd. I have always put a holding deposit down just to secure the vehicle, and paying the rest upon collection. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography

It does seem odd to ask more unless they have had deals fall through in the past but to the best of my knowledge any deposit is refundable if the buyer changes his/her mind I don't see the benefit. |

I agree it just seemed unusual. I have never cancelled an order before. I always thought the deposit was a gesture of your willingness to buy and not really a reflection on what the car cost, after all its only a 1.5% which is hardly anything more than a gesture. I'll pay the extra as its not a problem I was just curious as to whether anyone else had experienced the same. |

I wouldn't pay it Suppose the dealer went bust, or is planning to The £1000 you have already paid is more than enough. Don't pay another penny till you collect your car. |

I was only asked to pay £500. Don't understand why they are wanting more. 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic, Corris Grey with contrast Santorini Black Panoramic Roof, lunar interior, privacy glass, upgraded Meridian system, cooled 18 way front seats, heated steering wheel, adaptive xenons, large screen wash bottle.

It will be a cashflow situation......ask 100 people to pay another £4K, if 50 do that's £200K in the bank.
