Sorry to hear that Rob,
Good to hear there are people like you who are there to come to the rescue though. Unlucky for him, guess it was just his time.

I was in cyprus in 2004 and had a major anaphalaxis (think thats how its spelt?) reaction to something and my body starting shutting down bit by bit, i eventually black'd out and passed out in a busy shopping area. Lucky for me my friend has a car there, and even luckier for me, there were two cypriot lads walking by who came to my aid. One of them drove my mates Mitsubishi L200 Animal like a rally car and got me to the casualty department where i was treated with adrenaline and oxygen to get me back. Later my mate told me that guy who drove me there was only 16 and didn't even have a license! we couldn't find him again after that, but i owe him my life. We didn't have a clue where the hospital was and none of us could speak Greek!! Docs said a few more minutes and i probably would have died.
Nowadays in my RRS i have epipens and antihistamines stuffed inside my centre cubby hole but luckily have never needed to use them again..

I think it was just on the news... I think they said it was down nr Southampton (showed some footage of a road called Silver Street). Someone's having an unhappy start to the year.

Rob,
What sort of MD are you? I'm an Anaesthetist myself, (although called an Anesthesiologist here in the US).

Hi to all, just wanted to say i didnt post to make a hero out of myself, just thought it was a funny start to my new year! Everyone has their part to play, if it wasnt for I.T. i wouldnt be able to get to the job at all!

I didn't go to the job in the RRS, i was doing a shift with the traffic cops that night.

Bishman, im an emergency physician, but my base speciality is anaesthesia, and im seriously thinking about coming back!

Rob
