Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black
Higher Profile Tyres - Smaller Diameter Rims From Factory

I drove the last of the 2009 4.4 V8's when new and the ride was very good and it had 19 inch rims.

When I bought my 2010 TDV8 is came with 20 inch rims and to be quite frank the ride comfort is very compromised in locations where normal bitumen road surfaces are not super smooth. There is no way that I would go of road with 20inch rims running on 275/40 tyres. Not only would the vehicle shake itself to bits the rims would get damaged.

Range Rover should really offer offroad tyres and rims for their vehicle if they are bona fide about them being suitable for off road use. They could even charge more money for this option.

Is it a 4wd or not.

The majority of RRS vehicles in Australia are have a built specified by the dealer, you basically take what you can get as it will take sometimes 6-8 months to get a special order vehicle. So if it comes with 20's you have to pay extra to have 19's installed.

I don't recall ever seeing a 2010 or later RRS with anything less than 20's in this part of the world.

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

I had 19" on my 2009 like you say Melang. They were fine for me, I like a smooth ride. But beware fitting non OEM tyres. 2nd Rower (back in 2009) had issues with LR refusing warranty because he had fitted non OEM off-road tyres.......yes I know, on an off-road capable vehicle! Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2009 Buckingham Blue RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2010 Alaska White RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Gone - 2017 Chawton White RRS 5.0 V8 Supercharged
Current - 2010 Java Black RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Current- 2024 RRS P400 SE Dynamic

In uk 19" were standard on base models but optional on higher spec models Confused

Have fitted 19" every winter bar 1 and agree the ride is better and definitely wouldn't want to go off road with 20" Thumbs Up

RRS are targeted at road biassed owners hence lower profile tyres and disco more off road use so higher profile Cool Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!
