Is royal mail

the most annoying, pointless, faceless, incompetent, unaccountable and useless organisation in the planet.

They have now lost 2 items and another 1 item which is a replacement of the first...despite using first class recorded. They wont do anything until mid January regardless and their excuse, that I should have paid £7 and used special delivery because its tracked. Even though one organisation (sending to me, don't send it by special delivery).

Rant over...I would say privatise them, but they have...when does Dutsche Post take over?! Mike

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

Have a similar problem myself, I made a special effort to keep one supplier happy over Christmas by sending him 3 large cheques on the 20th of dec to cover the week before and the two weeks we are closed over Christmas , he still has not received them, so on Monday I am going to have to cancel them and do a BACs transfer. My accounts guys are going to love me on Monday when they start back!
Rubbish service!

Cheers

Gone: a comprehensive list of imprezas and a Merc ML AMG

I feel for you, but take some solace that its not just me.

It is a mad situation and so unaccountable - you cant choose another provider, cant complain and even if you did they neither care or do anything about it.

Loosing like they seem to or longer than a couple of day delay for Christmas, is just unacceptable - not wanting or doing anything about it is outrageous and the absolute insult 1st class recorded is an enhanced service we pay for over first, which is over second class...special deliver shouldn't be the only postal service to be relied on...and for £5 more - its time the postman picks you up from your house Exclamation Mike

You cant use a different delivery company though?? and many companies like the DVLA for example don't , so I have no control over that and you cant make them

Special delivery is not the answer either. The importance of something /value are to different to needing something to get there in an accountable way - surely this is the point of 1st class and recorded, these weren't valuable (abit like a cheque) but were to need to get there in a reasonable and accountable...you shouldn't need to pay £6 or £7 to get anything anywhere just for some accountability Mike

We send a lot of stuff with Royal Mail (they collect from us) and to be honest, they don't lose much. Most of the "item not received" stuff we get is fraud on the part of the buyer. Very seldom I have an issue with Recorded Delivery either.

Now Collect+ on the other hand, there is some dishonesty going on there. Here is one of ours that just vanished off the system: https://www.collectplus.co.uk/track/NKLLDBL - stolen by employees.

Yodel (Formerly DHL48) are useless, they also lose stuff and seem to play football with it along the way.

We now use UPS for higher value parcels. They are by far the best, but not the cheapest.

The Post Office, considering the volume they handle and low prices on business mail, is about as good as it gets.

So your saying I can't use a parcel company to send something to dvla?

Tbh i always thought recorded mail was traceable with a reference number but like I said I always now use special delivery, it's a fast service that I can track.

You shouldn't have to send it special I agree.

Can't disagree more, not using special delivery is not an excuse. At best I should have sent it recorded (which I did).

Saying you must use special delivery is like saying you should buy a top spec sport for a better experience, any other model your not important...or actually you should buy a ffrr...if you don't LR shouldn't bother to look after you, or only deal with warrant claims 1 month after the problem

More the point of their incompetence in tracking, incompetence in finding and their inability to locate or try to locate an item which was tracked.

And no there isn't a service that replicates Royal Mail, which is the problem...much rather the service is improved though

At our last house, we regularly had stuff lost and many problems with what turned out to be the post man, here we don't get post on Mondays. First class post, which should take 1 or 2 days, often takes a week.

The problem with Royal Mail is they are not accountable Mike
