Windscreeen Wiper Control Stalk - How to replace?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to fix and if broken, replace the windscreen wiper control stalk?

My 4yr old got into the drivers seat and Censored about with it - still functions but I can't stop the rear wiper from wiping!

So can't move the stalk back into the rear wiper off position.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Simon

I've got a full set left and right off brand new, but the newer style icons on them. Will dig out a photo if you want them, £40 delivered for the pair, never been on a car.

You need to take the surround off which is held by three screws, and the steering wheel. Disconnect the two bigger connectors, then remove the whole unit or just the side you want.

Thanks guys.

Bodsy - yes please, if you could dig out a photo that would be great.

Peachy - kids...! Don't worry. Rather it happened sooner. At least he now knows not to fiddle!!

400 miles over the weekend trip the car was immense, joy to drive - loved it!!

New icon style

Complete unit

Connectors to unplug

Screws to undo for each side make it easier to slide out

I would recommend taking the wheel off as it makes it so much washer to get the cowling off. Having said that, I don't think I've ever removed the cowling without taking the wheel off.

Removing the wheel is easy peasy. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible
