Following my exploits in the mud and knackering 2 alloys I now have a the chance to replace my space saver spare wheel with a full size one (19inch). Question is does this affect anything or is it simply a case of hooking it up underneath? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I would think it is just a mater of swapping them around. I had to pop the spare wheel off from under the van a few weeks ago and it looked like a could get a alloy under there well they are the same size!

The wheel fits - It's sitting up there now my only concern is that it reduces the exit angle on any hills, holes etc. Also fitting it I've put the face of the alloy up rather than facing the road - is this the right way? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

If was gonna fit a wheel i would have it facing up so this way you don't get any stone chips on it and if you do ever use it is not all off sh**

Thanks Jay. BTW the spare is so scratched a few more stone chips wouldn't make the slightest difference! But the advice is sound. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

i once came down a very high kerb in my old RRS, and forgot to put it up from access height and i wacked the bottom at the rear, and it felt like the spare wheel took most of the brunt of the force, so i never wanted to see what condition it was in.. looked ok from the back, but never ventured underneath for a closer look! sorry to the new owner of that car.. |
