For those who have been waiting, the time has finally come. We've now released V3.0 for regular non Bluetooth IIDTool's made for Range Rover Sport and Discovery 3/LR3 up to 2009. We will send an e-mail to each user on Monday but for now, you can have access to it using the updater software (may need to be updated depending on which version you are using).

The following new features are included in V3.0 for non Bluetooth IIDTool’s:

• Supports the new PC based interface
• Additional calibration functions (steering angle, transfer box)
• ECU Re-flashing (Bluetooth, Nav On Move, modified IPC Instrument Pack with FBH light fix all added)
• New VIN lock policy:

Standard diagnostic functions (free of charge on any L319 or L320 up to 2009)
• Fault read / clear
• Live values
• Control outputs
• Service / test functions

Enhanced diagnostic functions (one free VIN, extra VINs are available from your Britpart dealer at around 60 GBP):
• ECU Re-flash
• Component and system calibration (steering angle sensor calibration etc)
• Advanced functions including backup / restore, save profiles – vehicle system settings and
configurations are read and stored as a backup file for a restore function, various changes
to systems (e.g. suspension height) can be stored and changed quickly

The user manual is also available for downloading. We strongly suggest reading it before using this new version, especially if you want to perform the new re-flashes.

We've just released 2 new builds of firmware V3.0 for the IIDTool BT. The first one (release) now includes:

-The modified IPC firmware for earlier vehicles (clock on dash, no FBH light)
-Faster updating method for the IIDTool itself

The second one is a special build (1112) called Nav On Move. This firmware is used to enable destination entry while the vehicle is moving and cannot perform any diagnostic tasks. The process involve two consecutives reflashes of the Touchscreen and takes about 71 minutes. Please consult the IIDTool’s user manual for more details

Hi all.
I am looking to get a diagnostic tool to allow me to edit the ccf RRS 2011 TDV6. I need to make changes for TowBar, park heating and paddle change gears.
I saw in other posts that with the early IIDtool flashing the panel software to the 2012 version stopped the front parking sensors from working..... Does anyone know if this has been sorted?
Also, with the Bluetooth version, does this avoid the need to flash the console display screen as I quite like the look of the earlier version, I assume that all editing would be done by ipad or phone etc.

Definitely want to get one of these or something similar. Losing the front sensors would be a show stopper.

Any and all help greatly appreciated.

You can still use the integrated interface (cruise control buttons, instrument cluster screen) although it works a lot quicker with the mobile Apps.

I'm really interested in getting one of these to have a go at flashing and reading fault codes etc. However I'm a bit confused as to which version would be best for my situation.

I don't have an iPad or Android tablet (not a fan of either really) but would rather not have to fanny about using the buttons on the dash if a better option is available.

I do have a Microsoft Surface Pro 3. It's basically a tablet that runs a full version of Windows 8.1. It has both USB and Bluetooth connectivity... I assume I can still get all the features using the Windows software?

So... do I just get the standard version or the BT one? Is bluetooth even a connectivity option for use with the windows software? I'm not bothered by using a USB cable, just don't want to miss out on any features!

Unfortunately, a tablet PC running on windows 8 cannot be connected via Bluetooth to an IIDTool BT. Your only other option, if you do not want to use the integrated interface, would be to use a PC (your tablet might work) and USB cable to have access to the integrated interface replica software or controller. It is the same as using the cruise control buttons and instrument pack info screen but with 2 additional lines and 26 characters per lines.

Since we are concentrating our efforts on mobile App running on iOS and Android, the PC controller software is only used in specific cases and will not be enhanced to reflect the current mobile Apps.

A regular non BT IIDTool would be appropriate unless you are planning to buy one of the supported iOS or Android device in the future.

Thanks for the quick reply. So basically all the fancy screenshots of graphs and emailing of fault reports is only available when connected to an ipad/android tablet?

Will I still be able to backup configurations, personal suspension height settings etc and export fault reports to a file of some sort with the windows version at least?

I've got a Nokia Lumia 1520 (Windows phone) so I guess that counts me out on the phone front too!

During the development phase, we had to decide which devices would be the most valuable asset for the IIDTool BT. Our conclusion were iOS and Android devices. Supporting every single platform would be a monumental task therefore we have to limit ourselves to the most popular (and simple to work on...) platforms.
