Land Rover North One - London, Avoid them!!!

Just a quick note to any one thinking of dropping their cars at Land Rover North One/North One Land Rover in Unit 5 Bush Estate
Station Road
Tufnell Park
London
N19 5UN

should please totally avoid them as they are thieves!. They are currently advertising they have offers etc if you want to do your wheel alignment for 79.99 from the original price of 149.99.

Book my car in yesterday for wheel alignment as I've just recently changed both front lower arm on my range rover sports 2005, got there about 2.30pm and after about an hour waiting the lady came out to say they were having problems to loosen the tie rod end on the track rod and there is 2 options

1. The will need to heat the tie rod up in order to loosen the nuts = £139.20 as this will take 1hour each for both front sides.
2. If option 1 doesn't work, will need to cut the track rod and a new parts will need to be fixed at a price of £453.98 of which labour cost is £348 and rest is for parts!!! Tie rod end cost about £30 when I checked online

Me thinking, no way another money coming out of my pocket just for a wheel alignment which shudn't be more than 80quid, they printed out the invoice and said i have to pay the 79.99 cos the car had been on the ramp Shocked Shocked ....with no wheel alignment completed!!! (Rip off of the month Bow down ) As I wasn't happy, paid, and told the guy I will go and loosen the tie rod at my local garage and will bring back the car but I'm not paying a dime when i bring it back as they've already charged me for it....the guy was a bit reluctant to agreed cos I told him why charge for not doing any work but he was quick to reply they did the rear back alignment and that cos 79.99.

Today, took the car to another wheel alignment place and within 30secs, the guy used there heated machine to loosen the tie rod and 20-30mins later wheel alignment completed on all 4 wheels and from the measurement printout I got from the new garage, it still shows the rear back wheels are not totally aligned. I've emailed them to get me a copy of the measure before and after they said the rear end were done, which I going to compare to what I've got at the moment.

So all the discount adverts they have at the moment is just to pull you into the garage and they will give you a different story something else is wrong with your car and charge you more for doing nothing, which was wot they did to another customer while I was there and called the guy up to same one of the nuts on the rear wheel cudnt come out so they have to drill and replace the nuts which will cost 169.9 for everything.

That's really shocking !! I really don't see how they can charge you for a 4 wheel alignment when they have only done the rears !!! If its done correctly the rears Must be aligned with the fronts. Don't let them get away with his .
Cheers Bob

They had the keys Smile if not would have said will be back and out of the door i go. atleast i've got my evidence nothing was done on the left rear wheel as the print out i got clearly shows this not only in black and white but also in colour incase they want to claim colour blindness Laughing .

But I bet they will say unfortunately they didn't save the before/after measurements of the wheel when it went onto the ramp and will the show them the printout i got from the other garage and would love to see what they say.

Took mine in for a wheel alignment using the Hunter equipment - it was put on the ramp - set up then the manager came into the waiting room & said what's made you bring it in - I replied I've had new wheels fitted - he gave me the print out & talked me through it - there is nothing wrong with the alignments at all - he took the car of the ramp checked all the tyre pressures - & handed back my keys free of charge Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

If they have the keys and refuse to hand over call the police.

And police would have said its a civil case! Been there, done that with airport parking.
We have a Bear system, but wheel alignment is only as good as person using the machine. What a lot if operators don't know is that alignment must be done with full tank of fuel or 100 kgs added to car via weights. So half tank add 50 kgs etc. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!

Doesn't the vehicle need to be in tight tolerance mode to do a proper 4-wheel alignment?
Before and after printouts should be provided by the workshop.

@DrLex, that's what I've asked the garage to provide when I emailed them. They've already acknowledge they got my email so waiting till tomorrow morning to ask for that.

But I'm sure they wont be able to provide it cos bet they will say oh sorry, we haven't done the alignment yet as we cudn't get the tie rod end loosen but just thought lets see if we can play around with you abit and charge you extra seeing that you've got new lower arm's for both front Laughing

The funny part was when i took it to the other garage they had barely used the heating machine to loosen the tie rod end.

Hi skilachi

If you paid with a credit card you can ask for your money back from them and you will get it back. The Co may object but if you have proof then the CC company are unlikely to agree with them.

Worth a shout if you have. Thumbs Up

Yes they will, but they will also tell the garage to hand over the keys and sort it out. Also been there and done that.
