Range rover sport pulling massively to the left...

Guys I clipped the front left wheel few weeks ago so I got the balancing done on the Hunters machine but still the same problem.... what could it be?

Sounds like a tracking issue - maybe bent tracking rod or similar Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Did you find a solution to this? Seems odd if you have had a 4 wheel alignment check and no improvement. Did the alignment check show that adjustment was required and did they adjust anything?

Apart from a bent steering component,as already suggested, the only thing I can think of is that if you drove around for a few weeks after clipping the wheel (we've all done it) then maybe a tyre has worn unevenly and now, although the alignment is correct, the uneven wear on the tyre is causing the pull to the left.

Years ago I had inexplicable steering pull on an XR4x4 - so bad it made my wrists ache (no funny remarks please) and amazingly swopping the front wheels from one side to the other cured it completely even though both tyres looked fine. If you have 'directional' tyres that may not be an option for you unfortunately. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I don't imagine it would be but a bush failing will put your steering way out!

Guys I just checked pressures.. That wheel was only 19 psi so it's losing air I put the pressure back to 35 but it still pulls to that wheel side. Tyre shop ha looked at it so now I'm confused especially as I just put air in and still same problem.

^^ What did the tyre service place say about the cause of loss of pressure? Did they do anything other than 'look at it"?

It is common after hitting a pothole or striking a kerb for the inner rim to be fractured and this can cause a slow loss of pressure - the crack may not be visible from the outer rim side but can usually be clearly seen on the inner rim. If the hit was hard enough the wheel may also be buckled or flat spotted so needs to checked for run-out.

A good wheel repair/refurb company can weld up a cracked rim and straighten a warped wheel; Lepsons in Kent are one of the most well regarded repairers. It is a perfectly acceptable practice but must be done expertly.

Sounds as if you need to take your RRS to a good independent LR Specialist for a thorough inspection. Try searching the forum for a recommended place in your area of London. Can't really recommend a LR franchised dealer as they all seem to be outrageously expensive and frankly not very good at diagnosis. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

When u say the inner rim do you mean the tyre or actual alloy wheel?

You don't have a brake caliper binding on the front left wheel by any chance?
After a drive check to see if the brake disc is hot. Thumbs Up

The wheel. With tubeless tyres which we all drive on, the ability to retain pressure relies not just on the tyre but also the integrity of the wheel itself.

Cracked alloys is a common problem on heavy cars with wide unsupported parts of the rims and low profile tyres. Mostly thanks to speed bumps and potholes for which the wheels were never designed. Try doing a Google search for 'BMW and cracked alloys' - you'll see what I mean! 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

At a tyre specialist now.. Rim is fine and fully inspected, tyre is also fine so they think maybe the valve so they replacing and will glue around edge of rim they say this should all be fine then. I will soon find out I guess.

Good. From a safety point of view it's well worth knowing that the wheel is not cracked and is running true. The new valve and bead sealant should certainly fix the pressure loss. If you still have pull to the left then obviously will need to investigate further.

Just to clarify - is the pull to the left felt when you are just driving along or does it only occur when braking? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Time to get a 4 wheel alignment done. Make sure they set the EAS to tight tolerance mode. Is the vehicle on wheels >20 inch diameter? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
