ISSE Super Snow Socks / Textile Snow Chains

ISSE Super Snow Socks / Textile Snow Chains.

Has anyone tried these? How well do they work?

The Thule K-Summit's are quite expensive so wondered if the ISSE's are a viable option at 80 quid a pair?

Would also be much lighter and less bulky to carry around.

Obviously they won't be as good as proper chains but just wondering if they're good enough.

Cheers,

Mike.

I've used snow socks on my fwd car, they are really good. Just got to make sure you them off before driving on Tarmac.

Cheers Oxford-boy.
I'm looking to keep it under 200 quid at the minute though. That's why I was looking at the socks.
Plus I'm not planning on going anywhere too extreme.
I was in Oxford all day yesterday funnily enough. Got caught in all that bloody Christmas light traffic coming out!

Cheers for the reply Daz.

Mike.

Are these to be used in place of winter tyres in the UK or in place of chains in Europe? If the latter, it would be worth checking whether the relevant country accepts the snow sock in place of chains. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Hi,

Not to be used in place of anything.

Just to keep with me should I get into bother.

I'll be in Scotland when the snow hits so would like to know I've got a bit more grip if needed.

The socks I'm looking at are the heavy duty ones that can also be used on tarmac. Albeit for a short period and at low speed. Just to get you clear of the problem area.

Mike.
