potential New Owner - A few Questions

Hi - I'm looking for a RRS - probably going to buy in January, but I do love doing my research first Laughing Laughing

Got a budget of up to 20k - but dont really know what I'm looking for.

I see that you can start picking up RRS on the landrover site for around that price, but they're 5k cheaper here. The LR ones would obviously give more peace of mind, but would taking a warranty direct policy be just as good?

Anyway - on to the meat of the question:

What sort of problems are common on the TD6 about 2005-2006 - which looks like it fits my budget?

I'm probably going to be looking for an HSE, so what options are seen as "essential" - or recommended?

Generally, as a newbie I'm after any advice anyone can possibly offer Laughing Laughing

I've had a look through the site and seen a few issues, but there's so much info on here it's not all in one place!

Thanks in advance for any help

Search is your friend. There are thousands of posts on here about that subject.

Battery, Alternator, Air Suspension, Turbos, EGR valves, Diffs......there is not a "typical" car.

Best advice, buy as new as you can afford and get a warranty. These are not cheap cars to run, you must really want one to buy an older model and you will need to be a bit of an enthusiast to deal with any possible issues. Not all cars have issues, but if I could pick out which ones did or would have issues, I wouldn't be sitting here! Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
