Towing electrics not working 2006 2.7 SE

Hi guys,

I have done a search on the forum and cannot find an answer to my problem.

I purchased a tow bar a while ago and more recently, some twin electrics. Part number is YWJ 500 150.

My car is a 2006 model 2.7 SE

Today I have fitted the twin sockets on the rear of the car, and managed to locate the three connectors in the boot area to the nearside.

The loom has been connected to these three sockets and also earthed where shown in the instructions.

Now, when I connect a trailer board to test it, nothing illuminates and the whole setup does not work.

I have checked my manual and there appears to be some confusion as to whether I should have a separate fuse box located in the boot area. I do not have this fuse box and the wiring loom I was supplied with has no connector to connect to a separate fuse box, only the three conenctors, two grey and one green.

I have double checked the fuses in the glovebox and can confirm that anything with a trailer symbol has a fuse in place and not broken.

I am unsure which way to progress with this now. I know the trailer board works with a friends socket so not that.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated Current - RRS SE Rimini Red

Genuine parts electrics?

Sounds like you might have a 2010 onwards electrics, the 2005-2009 should have a fusebox as part of the towing electrics loom. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

Yes, genuine LR electrics.

I phoned the dealer where I got it from and they posted out the wrong loom. They sent me one for a 2009 onwards vehicle. Ie the one without fuses built into the loom.

All will be rectified shortly. They are sending me out the right one and arranging collection of the wrong item.

Cheers everyone who helped out.

Hopefully when I'm off work middle of next week it'll connect straight up and work. Current - RRS SE Rimini Red
