Ok, I know there's alot about suspension faults here on the site, but, they generally refer to faults where there is a fault code or a warning light on the dash, I have neither...

Basically, I have noticed that the front suspension is dropping overnight by ensuring that the suspension is level and in "normal mode" before disconnecting the battery to prevent the EAS from self leveling.

The result is that the front passenger side drops by about 2.5cm and the driver's side by 1.5cm. I got my garage to check and there were some smalls leaks from the dampers so both were replaced. The lines were also checked for leaks nothing.

However, the suspension is still dropping... They checked the lines again and still no leaks so what could it be? The compressor is making a whirring sound when operating so I think it's being worn out by the leak.

They also did a diagnostic and that says everything is fine also

Any tips would be appreciated as this is driving me crazy...

Anybody any ideas??

I've been monitoring now for a while without the battery disconnected and whilst the rear suspension settles by about 1cm overnight. The front however is dropping 3cm so the self leveling diagnostic doesn't seem to be doing its job either.

Battery is fine as recently replaced and everything associated to that has been checked and is also ok.

I have 'dropped' the suspension by 20mm front and rear using the IID Tool could this be having an effect? Is it possibly interfering with the self diagnostic? If so why only at the front and not all round?

Again any feedback would be appreciated, it's not showing any faults but the compressor is working overtime to pump the suspension up all the time and I fear it will be kaput soon

from your first post i understand there is a leak from passenger side air-strut
(the difference in height on drivers side is only because it can not bear the
weight of the car alone)

the leak most likely be from air bag alone (could be from piping or front valve block - but less likely in my opinion)

what to do - if my suspicious is confirmed you will need to change the complete air strut
(or bag alone but the difference in price is not worth hassle)

Cheers Adigorn I think I used the wrong terminology. The garage replaced the complete air strut so airbag and damper like the unit shown in the link below:

However it's still dropping at the front I guess from your post they will have to check the front valve block more closely as if the front air struts are sound, as well as the piping, then the culprit must be the valve block I presume...

What gets me is that no error message is showing...

Could be a problem with the front valve block. It's in the front right wheel arch behind the arch liner.

Do a search of the forum and you should find a thread by a chap who stripped and cleaned his front valve block to solve a similar problem.  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

will do do a search for 'front valve block' and see what I can find. I've seen new ones for less gbp 100 on the net so not going to cost the earth to fix it that's the cause of the problem.

I had a similar problem , turned out to be an internal leak in the front valve block

not a bad price for a new one from TLO(The large one ) on the D3 site
