disco v RRS set up

I used to have a MY10 Discovery now I have a MY59 RRS! both have the 3.0 Diesel engine, are the engines tuned the same?
I know they share the same platform, but does the RRS have a different suspension set up.

I test drove a D4 in between my10 and my13 RRS - definitely different suspension set up - swmbo felt sea sick in the back of the D4 as it bounced and swayed - the RRS is much stiffer especially on the bends Thumbs Up

Tech specs for engine not much different but top speed varies

MY10 RRS

Engine: 2993cc twin-turbo 24v 6-cyl diesel, 242bhp @ 4000rpm, 443lb ft @ 2000rpm
Transmission: Six-speed automatic, four-wheel drive
Performance: 8.8sec 0-60mph, 120mph, 30.7mpg, 243g/km CO2

MY10 D3

Engine: 2993cc 24v turbodiesel V6, 242bhp @ 4000rpm, 442lb ft @ 2000rpm
Transmission: Six-speed auto, four-wheel drive
Performance: 9.0sec 0-62mph, 112mph, 30.4mpg, 244g/km CO2 Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Thanks Muddy
I had the Disco for a couple of years, loved it, but then went to an Evoque, for a couple of months!!
The RRS feels similar, I will have a go in my brother in laws, that will perhaps show the difference.

Evoque for a couple of months - was it that bad Shocked

I loved my D2's but was not keen on the D3 when it came out and no longer needed the 7 seats but when I'm trying to fit everything in the RRS I start to feel the D4 would be a better buy - SWMBO prefers the RRS to the D4 and often ends up in the back when we take her Dad anywhere so the travel sickness is an issue in the D4 but not the RRS Rolling Eyes

I said I would not buy another after my last RRS issues but was won over by promises/goodwill and convinced to wipe the slate clean - at the moment wishing I had stuck to my guns. When it does what it says on the tin I love the RRS and grin constantly but every time it goes wrong and I have to contact local dealers or LRCS I want to set fire to it Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

The Evoque was a nice (car), it was the Prestige Lux so had tons of toys, was pretty good around corners etc. But I like the feeling of sitting up high, and when you put the right foot down in the Disco or RRS the bonnet lifts and you feel as if you going faster than you probably are.
The RRS is quieter too, and it feels more robust, the Evoque had more rattles from the trim, and when I cleaned around the grille it felt like something was going to fall off.

At the minute I'm loving the RRS. Very Happy
